Happy Beginning of the New Year to those of you in most parts of the world following the Gregorian calender. I know it’s a lot of a qualification for something seemingly as simple as the calender year ending. Did you know, however, that there are over 45 different calenders? This means that there are many different starts and ends to the new year that aren’t necessarily synonymous with December 31st or even 2012.
Which really means, that there are over 45 different opportunities for you to start your year anew! If there are over 45 different calenders ending with epic times of renewal, then you’re primed and ready to continue bringing in new opportunities with every turn!
There are 52 weeks in every year– if there are almost 52 separate calenders then you get a new start every week. When the adage is: every day is a new day, it holds true in more ways than you typically think about — as is hopefully clear from the abundance of calenders and opportunities for re-start! 🙂
So on this commonly accepted day of rebirth and renewal– January 1, 2012– where in your life do you want to go? Are you living the life you want? Are you in love with your life? Do you wake up and feel you’re awesome?
If the answer is yes, then what do you hope to accomplish as time wears on?
If the answer is no, then where do you hope to go in the future?
What prevents you from living the life of your dreams?
Just know that you have complete control of your destiny. If you are fed up with your life, your job, and the way that you wake and walk through each day, then find a new and happier way to exist in this world. This year and every day is yours for the taking!
Even though you may be tempted from all the well wishing and New Year Resolution speak to make a bunch of lofty aspirations and set goals and things you’d like to accomplish for the New Year… be realistic. Set your intentions and your desires concretely and specifically. By being realistic, that doesn’t mean set the bar low– that means choose things you truly want to accomplish! If you really don’t enjoy humid and hot weather, you probably wouldn’t really aspire to move to a place like Hawaii. If you don’t really want to move to Hawaii but your dream says “make enough money to move to Hawaii”– you probably won’t realize it. It’s simple really, you can really only realize what you want.
It’s all a delicate dance between the conscious thoughts (OMG I want to move) and the subconscious mind (I’m happy where I’m at I just don’t want to drive to work any more). You need to figure out what it is that your subconscious mind– your soul– really needs to be happy so you can start to live the life you want, the life of love, and the life you deserve. The life everyone — including you– deserves is a life that is full of happiness and bliss!
You can journal, meditate, and continue all sorts of introspective activities to reach the place where you figure out what you truly want and need to be happy. Without breaking down activities for everyone, just know that anything you do to take time to ask yourself honestly what you wish is the most important activity you can do! It doesn’t matter whether that is written down or just floated through your meditating mind.
We all deserve to experience each day like the star of our own super hero saga. We all deserve to have loving companions that balance us, uplift us and keep our minds and attitudes always reaching for our highest potential and happiest realizations! Let that never be doubted in your mind. 🙂
So, as the New Year begins, take charge of your happiness and make this year the best one ever. 🙂
Happy New Year!
